If you have a security system installed, you know that all alarm operations are controlled by a centrally located hub: a keypad. Depending on your security needs, you may even need a secondary one. If a second keypad is required and there is no cost-effective way to install one, the Honeywell 5828 is the security keypad we install the most in Indianapolis.
With no wires to run, the Honeywell 5828 Wireless Security Keypad is easy and inexpensive to install. Since it mounts anywhere (on walls, tabletops, counters...), it gives you flexibility and convenience in operating your security system from anywhere in your home. As a secondary keypad, the 5828 wireless panel is the perfect add-on to any remote access system that allows you to monitor your home’s security on the go, such as LYNX or VISTA .
Specifications: 6-1/4” W x 4-3/4”H x 1-3/8” D
The installation time and labor costs decrease because there are no wires to run. For an “always on” operation (we highly recommend this), the 5828 comes with an optional AC power pack and includes three AA batteries. The keypad batteries have an expected life of 1.5 years.
The 5828 is compatible with LYNX and the following VISTA systems: 10P, 15P, 20P, and 21iP. Its large keypad and single button operation make the 5828 easy to use. With the soft-touch illuminated keys concealed by the contoured, removable door, the attractive white console blends perfectly with any décor.
The 5828 can be used to perform system operations such as arming and disarming. It can display and annunciate system status or a change in status. You can activate panic alarms by pressing pre-programmed key pairings. For fire alarms, the keypad’s built-in speaker pulses three times and then pauses and repeats. For burglary alarms, it generates a continuous two-tone sound.
This keypad works best as part of a complete security system. So, you’ll want to consider a provider that understands the Honeywell product line, and, most importantly, understands your security needs.
